Clean, cozy, comfortable, charming rooms, outstanding London location, delicious, full English breakfast, friendly, attentive staff--I am so glad I found this place! I come here often and am always sad to depart. You can sense as soon as you step into the lobby from outside that this hotel staff truly cares and wants you to be glad that you came to Hotel la Place! I am.
A very traditional, "rustic" no frills hotel. Nice to stay somewhere with its own character rather than being part of a chain. Could benefit from some maintenance and a redecoration but that is part of it's charm - provided you are not expecting modern spotless accommodation. Reasonable prices for central London. A great location. The cooked breakfast came very quickly but tasted hot and fresh.
This hotels punches well above its weight. The staff fall over themselves to be friendly and the hotel is well maintained and feels fresh. Ok, so the rooms are small (bathroom is a bit of a squeeze), but the rooms are spotlessly clean. All the amenities you would need for a short stay in the capital. Have no fears, book with confidence!
We enjoyed our stay at Hotel La Place. The rooms were surprisingly spacious for London, older-charming but clean and comfortable. Bathroom well appointed. The daily breakfast had plenty of options, tasted great, and service was quick. Location is excellent—just a 5-minute walk to Baker Street Tube station. Lots of good restaurants nearby too. Laundry service nearby too. Getting there from King’s Cross was easy too—a quick taxi ride for only £9 with the whole family and luggage. Staff was very helpful. Highly recommend for a convenient and comfortable stay!
We stayed 2 nights and overall the experience was good. Having breakfast included is a nice bonus in London. + Location ..near park and Baker tube station + Quiet and elegante Street + Breakfast ...generous portions, lots of options + Service ...polite stuff, friendly + Good shower and water pressure - room size ...for a junior suite it was a tad small - mattress was saggy - very hot in room (central boiler was turned off so second night was much better) - internet was very slow
This was our second time staying at this hotel and we highly recommend it. A typical British hotel, as you know and love! The service is very friendly and accommodating. Our stay was for two nights with a party of five in three rooms. There is lift to help with bags and this old rustic hotel is just gorgeous, squeaking floorboards and all. It really feels like London. The included breakfast in the cute little basement restaurant is simple but good. The beds are really comfortable and the bathrooms were spotless. It is not a new flash hotel but really beautiful in its own way.
Stayed here about two weeks ago, everything was great the location perfect, the people at the front desk, in the breakfast room, ... consistently great...housekeeping did a fabulous job... highly recommend! It was a family trip, we had two different rooms and everyone was very satisfied!
